USA Roller Sports extends condolences to L'Aquila earthquake victims

The 2004 World Inline Speed Skating Road Championships host city of L’Aquila, Italy suffered a 5.8 magnitude earthquake on Monday.  News sources report the death toll in excess of 250 with 28,000 having lost their homes and 17,000 living in tents. 

Reports from the FIRS Headquarters in Rome indicate that CIC President, Roberto Marotta and his family who live in L'Aquila, are safe.  Their home also luckily escaped damage.  

USA Roller Sports wishes to express deepest sympathy to those who so warmly welcomed our athletes and have suffered such an enormous tragedy.
