FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 28, 2008 Lincoln, NE- On May 16-18, 2008 Tour Inline Hockey Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo., will play host to inline hockey players from across the country as they vie for a spot on the 2008 Men's Inline Hockey World Team, which will be looking to improve on its 5th place finish at last year's world championships. All invited athletes must have competed in the following events in 2007: Torhs America, AAU Junior Olympics, and/or the USARS 18U and 21U. The 2008 Men's Team USA Trials Selection Committee will select 14 athletes, including two goalies, to represent the United States at the FIRS Men's Inline Hockey World Championships in Dusseldorf, Germany July 5-12, 2008. The women's world championship, as well as the men's and women's National Team World Cups, will be run in conjunction with the event. The team will be coached by Robert Chornomud and managed by Barry Jackson, positions both men have held in previous years. Coach Chornomud will conduct the trials and consult as a non-voting member of the selection committee.
