Brendan Anderson takes 8th and punches ticket to the Youth Olympic Games

At the Youth World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Brendan Anderson has taken 8th place in the mens’ final.  Finishing neck and neck with Dovidas Vaivada of Lithuania in the combined event, the tie was broken by the fence.  In a very tight race, Brendan was only five seconds away from third place.  Brendan’s performance solidified his spot in the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.  Anton Kuznetsov of Ukraine took home the gold, with Alexander Lifanov of Russia and Luis Cruz of Mexico taking home silver and bronze.  Full results from the mens’ final can be found on the UIPM website:

The mixed relay will start tomorrow, with Brendan Anderson and Natalie Bowman looking to bring home the gold.
