Margaux Isaksen Wins Women's National Championship

Margaux Isaksen, Fayetteville, Arkansas with a mighty across the board competition won the 2013 USA Pentathlon Women's National Championship. Margaux started off by winning the fencing portion, was second in the swim, had a perfect riding score and finished by winning the combined event. Margaux currently ranked third in the world will next be competing in the World Championships next month in Kaoshuing, Taipei.

Finishing second was Isabella Isaksen, Fayetteville, Arkansas, while the bronze medal was awarded to Samantha Achterberg, Littleton, Colorado. Isabella and Samantha had a strong competition which was anchored by a convincing finish in the combined event. Margaux along with Isabella and Samantha won the Junior Women's World Championship Relay title last year.

Grace Kittle, Colorado Springs, Colorado won the swim and finished fourth overall. Grace, Margaux and Whitney Wickes, Boulder, Colorado all had perfect scores in the riding event. Whitney was competing in her first Pentathlon National Championship having been the 2012 US Intercollegiate Reserve National Champion & High Point Rider for combined events and a top finisher in the 2013 Boston Marathon.
