July 29, 2013, 12 a.m. (ET)

Team USA finish the final event in a photo finish with South Korea as Isabella Isaksen, Fayetteville, AR and Army PFC Nathan Schrimsher, , Roswell, NM place 7th at the Pentathlon Junior World Championships Mixed Relay.

Isabella and Nathan opened strong, placing 7th in the fencing and 6th in the swimming events. Bad luck again plagued Team USA in this Championship event when the horse ridden by Nathan Schrimsher tripped on nothing and out of nowhere. They finished 18th in the riding event which put them 14th overall in the competition.

They finished extremely strong in the combined event, finishing in a photo finish with the Koreans to come within only 2 hundredths of a second to win the event which propelled them back into 7th place overall. Nathan and Isabella enjoyed near flawless shooting and fantastic runs which vaulted them back into the higher position.

Nathan and Isabella will next be competing at the Pentathlon Senior World Championships in August in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The full results of the xixed relay competition are below.
