July 27, 2013, 12 a.m. (ET)
Isabella Isaksen, Fayetteville, Arkansas, competing in her second Junior World Championships  in Szekesfehervar, Hungary finished in 12th place today.

Isabella fenced well with 904 points, followed with a solid swim of 2:24 and then rode a clean round, but picked up time penalties.  In the Combined event, Isabella had great shooting through the first 3 rounds and had moved into 4th place overall going into the final shooting round. In the final round, the target proved elusive as it took her 48 seconds to make the required 5 hits and she finished the competition in 12th position. With another year of eligibility at the Junior level Isabella will return next year looking to improve on her performance and bring home the medal we know that she is capable of.

Tomorrow will see Army PFC Nathan Schrimsher, Roswell, NM competing in the men's final and then on Monday, Isabella and Nathan will compete together in the mixed relay.
