Lesun started the day in vintage form, finishing 4th in the fencing behind Dymtro Kirpulyanskyy (UKR) who won with 25 victories. The Russian followed up this respectable result with a 14th place in the swim, but it was his near perfect ride worth 1156 points which put him in 3rd position ahead of the combined event.
Olympic swim record holder Amro El Geziry (EGY) was first off in the Combined Event, having won the swim and scored 1180 points in the ride, with Britain's Joseph Evans only 5 seconds behind and Lesun one second behind Evans.
Marosi started out in 5th place 25 seconds behind El Geziry but powered his way up over the 4 circuits though still crossing the finish line just under 10 seconds behind Lesun.
For 19 year old Joseph Evans, it must seem like a dream come true. This is his first World Cup. Who knows what the next one will have in store for him.
