U.S. Army Captain Mickey Kelly (Colorado Springs, Colo.) placed 30th on Saturday during the women's individual final at the UIPM Modern Pentathlon World Championships in Rome, Italy. She was the lone American in the finals.
Kelly placed 35th in the fencing (8 wins), 31st in the swim (2:27.06), 12th in the ride and was 18th in the combined run/shoot (12:04.00). She finished with a total of 4,892 points.
Great Britain athletes took two of the top three spots with Mhari Spence winning gold with 5,484 points, and Samantha Murray claiming bronze with 5,452 points. China's Qian Chen won the silver medal with 5,460 points.
