Margaux Isaksen, 20 (Fayettville, Ark.), will compete on Saturday, June 16, in the $130,000 Kremlin Cup of Modern Pentathlon in Moscow, Russia. Isaksen is returning to the form which saw her win the Champion of Champions event in Sicily last October on the heels of winning a gold medal at the Pan American Games where she secured an Olympic berth.
Perennially a World Cup medal threat, Isaksen has been sidelined for much of the early part of the 2012 season following a bout with mononucleosis. A team of supporters has helped Isaksen steadily regain her strength and conditioning to earn a place in this prestigious invitation-only event. Given the rate of her return to form, U.S. coaches and officials are confident that Isaksen will be ready to make a run for the podium on August 12th, the date of the women's pentathlon event of the London Games.
