Recognizing the Team Behind the Team
In a few short weeks our Olympians will show the world the strength, stamina, speed and skill the makes an Olympian in the sport of Modern Pentathlon. But behind each athlete, beyond the glare of the spot-light, is a team of individuals who dedicated themselves to the Olympic dream of an athlete they believed in-they accompanied their athlete along the journey-providing support and encouragement at each obstacle-sharing victory and defeat. They are the families and the coaches and friends and supporters of each of our Olympians. And whether they are on the field of play in London, or at home watching, they can each share in the knowledge that they are the "dream-makers."
In that spirit we offer a heart-felt thank you on the eve of these Games to our "team behind the team." The athletes and USA Pentathlon wish to recognize, Janusz Peciak, Genadijus Sokolovas, Victor Svatenko, Damien Lehfeldt, Bin Lu, Neal Picken, Nadia Paunov, Michael Aufrichtig, Hannah Clegg, Mook Rhodenbaugh, George Block, Jeff Hiestand, Richard Lamb, Tracy Powers, Mike Cintas, Karen Dub, Tom Bernier, Gary Wood, Matthew Joynes, Kelly O'Meara, Shannon Labianco, Perform Fit, the U.S. Army, the United States Olympic Committee and the families and friends of our athletes and our sport.
