Kelly wins women's February qualifier
Mickey Kelly (Colorado Springs, Colo.) used a perfect ride to vault into first place and win the U.S. domestic qualifier competition on Saturday in Colorado Springs.
Isabella Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark.) took the early lead after the fencing competition but relinquished it to Rendy Lynn Opdycke (Mercer Island, Wash.) who turned in her best time of the year in the swim with a clocking of 2:17. Isaksen regained the lead after the combined run/shoot as all the athletes battled the outdoor elements which on this day consisted of snow, ice and temperatures in the teens. The competition ended with the ride in which Kelly's perfect score of 1200 gave her the overall victory. See full results HERE.
The men's competition will be held on Sunday.
