American Sam Sacksen
(Somerset, Pa.) placed 34th on Sunday during the men's individual final at the UIPM Modern Pentathlon World Championships in Moscow, Russia. Sacksen totaled 5308 points over the five events.
Russia enjoyed the home-field advantage by claiming the top two spots in the men's final. Andrei Moiseev took the gold medal with 5964 points and his countryman Aleksander Lesun came in second with 5944 points. Hungary's Adam Marosi was the bronze medalist with 5924 total points.
The competition continues on Monday with the mixed relay event. Sacksen will team with Margaux Isaksen
(Fayetteville, Ark.) for the U.S. squad.
