World Championships set to begin

The U.S. Pentathlon Team has arrived in Moscow, Russia, and is preparing to compete in the World Championships to be held September 8-14. Team USA will participate in the men's and women's open championships as well as the mixed relay. Team members include Sam Sacksen (Somerset, Pa.), Dennis Bowsher (Dallas, Texas), Will Brady (Howell, Mich.) and Eli Bremer (Monument, Colo.) making up the men's team, while Margaux Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark.), Suzanne Stettinius (Partkton, Md.), Samantha Achterberg (Littleton, Colo.) and Rendy Opdycke (Mercer Island, Wash.) comprise the women's team. Janusz Peciak is serving as Team USA head coach for the championships.
All five events of the World Championships will be held at the indoor stadium which hosted the 1980 Olympic Games. The UIPM will broadcast the finals days live on Pentathlon TV at www.pentathlon.org Sept. 10 & 11. The broadcast will feature highlights of the fencing and swimming events as well as live coverage of the riding and combined event.
