The United States wrapped up competition at the Junior World Championships on Monday with a fourth-place finish in the women's relay event in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The women's team of Margaux Isaksen
(Fayetteville, Ark.) and Samantha Achterberg
(Littleton, Colo.) finished the relay with 7972 points, trailing only the teams from Great Britain (8074), Germany (8062) and Hungary (8038). The U.S. team was fifth in the fencing, seventh in the swim, fourth in the ride and second in the combined event.
In the men's relay, the brother duo of Lucas
and Nathan Schrimsher
(Roswell, N.M.) finished in 12th place with 8252 points. The top team was Korea (8720), followed by France (8632) and Germany (8038).
The mixed relay team of Rosalie Purvis
(Montgomery City, Mo.) and Harry Greene
(Concord, Mass.) place 19th with 4628 points. Hungary was the top mixed relay team with 5972 points, China was second with 5894 and Russia placed third with 5838 points.
