(Fayetteville, Ark.) finished in 10th place on Saturday during the women's individual final at the Modern Pentathlon Junior World Championships in Buenos Aries, Argentina.
Isaksen, coming off back-to-back wins last month at the Pan Am Games and the Champion of Champions event, placed ninth in the fencing event with 20 wins, was 14th in the swim with a time of 2:18.36, and finished the ride in fourth place with 1180 points to place her in seventh position, just 45 seconds behind the leader heading into the final combined run/shoot event. But Isaksen struggled in the combined, placing 19th with a time of 12:37.63 to drop her to 10th in the final standings with 5172 points.
Teammate Samantha Achterberg
(Littleton, Colo.) finished in 28th place with 4808 points. Achterberg was 30th in the fencing (12 wins), 26th in the swim (2:23.53), 20th in the ride (1120 points) and 25th in the combined (12:50.42).
Hungary's Sarolta Kovacs defended her Junior World title by finishing first with 5380 points. She was followed by Russia's Alise Fakhrutdinova (5332) and Great Britain's Freyja Prentice (5316).
