Isaksen 26th at World Cup Final

Fighting through the pain and discomfort of a broken wrist suffered last month, Margaux Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark.) finished 26th at the Modern Pentathlon World Cup Final on Sunday in London, England. Isaksen, a 2008 Olympian who suffered the wrist injury after falling off her horse at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow on June 11, posted a total of 4756 points on Sunday. She won 15 bouts in the fencing competition, completed the swim in a time of 2:24.65, totaled 1120 points in the ride and finished the competition with a time of 14:50.98 in the combined run/shoot.

Reigning Olympic champion Lena Schoneborn showed why she is the world's best by outsprinting the field in the final leg of the run to claim the gold medal with 5308 points and gain an automatic berth in the 2012 Olympic Games. The silver medal went to Lithuania's Laura Asadausakite with 5284 points and France's Elodie Clouvel claimed the bronze medal with 5252 points.
