2008 Olympian Sam Sacksen (Somerset, Pa.) finished 5th in his group during Friday's men's qualification round at the 2011 World Cup event in Rancho Mirage, Calif., and will advance to Sunday's men's final along with 35 other international competitors. Sacksen was 7th in the fencing portion, 11th in the swim (2:08.93) and 7th in the combined run/shoot event (11:44.00).

 

The women's individual final will be held on Saturday and will features Americans Margaux Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark.) and Suzanne Stettinius (Parkton, Md.).
