Margaux Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark.) has advanced to the final round of the 50th Modern Pentathlon World Championships in Chengdu, China. Isaksen, a 2008 Olympian, placed 15th in her semifinal group during Thursday's women's qualification round. The top 18 athletes in both semifinal groups earned berths in the final round taking place on Saturday.
Isaksen totaled 3820 points during the qualification round. She placed 15th in the fencing (13 victories), 11th in the swim (2:19.45) and 7th in the combined run/shoot (12:59.82).
The UIPM will broadcast the finals LIVE on Internet TV at pentathlon.org on 3 and 4 September at 15:30 local time (GMT +8 hours). The broadcast will feature highlights from the fencing and swimming events as well as live coverage of the riding and combined events. The Championships will also be broadcasted live in Hungary, Czech Republic, Russia and Lithuania in a landmark TV deal.
