As part of the Peace and Sport Awards, each year, “Peace and Sport, L’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport” rewards a particularly symbolic image illustrating the power of sport to reconcile and unite over and above differences.
In 2010, for the first time the public will be invited to vote for their favourite image, available on the site www.peace-sport.org
The nominees this year are:
- "Stop War, Start Tennis": when an Indian and a Pakistani join forces
- Young pentathletes bridge the gap between the USA and Cuba
- Nelson Mandela, hero of the anti-apartheid struggle and symbol of the 2010 World Cup
- Iran and the USA forget their differences on a basketball pitch

The photograph that receives the most votes from the public and members of the Jury will be designated the "Peace and Sport Image of the Year" and announced during the George Bertellotti Podiums d’Or evening at SPORTELMonaco on 12 October, 2010.
The Peace and Sport Awards Ceremony 2010 will take place Thursday, 2 December in the ‘Salle des Etoiles’ in Monaco, during the Gala Evening of the Peace and Sport International Forum, in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.
