2008 Olympian Margaux Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark.) placed second at the Pan American Championships on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Yane Marques of Brazil topped the field with 5336 points. Isaksen totaled 5148 points after placing 4th in the fencing with 15 victories, 4th in the swim with a time of 2:19.84, and winning both the riding and combined run/shoot portions of the event. Her time in the combined event was 12:59.84
By virtue of their placements this weekend, the U.S. team has qualified the allotted spots (two men and two women) for the 2011 Pan American Games to be held in Guadalajara, Mexico.
