Isaksen 14th at Budapest World Cup
2008 Olympian Margaux Isaksen
(Fayetteville, Ark.) placed 14th on Saturday during the women's final at World Cup #4 in Budapest, Hungary.
Isaksen started the day scoring 16 victories against 18 defeats in the fencing portion which left her tied for 17th place after the first event. Her teammate in the fence was the eventual champion Lena Schoneborn of Germany who scored 28 victories with only 6 defeats.
Isaksen then placed 7th in the swim with a time of 2:17, moving her up to 14th going into the riding event.
She then scored 1084 in the riding event, suffering a costly run out at a fence with lost her 80 points and dropped her to 16th place to start the combined event.
Isaksen had a great start in the combined event, moving up to fifth position coming into the shooting station for her third round, but had a rough time in that round and dropped back to her eventual 14th place finish with a total of 4976 points.
Schoneborn won the event with 5268 points, followed by France's Amelia Caze with 5260 points and Hungary's Leila Gyenesei with a total of 5128.
