Andrews 29th in Women's Qualification at Junior Worlds
Emily Andrews (Absecon, N.J.) placed 29th in her qualification group on Friday at the World Junior Championships for modern pentathlon and did not advance to Saturday's final. The event is being held in Szekesfehervar, Hungary.
Andrews was 19th in the fencing competition with 12 victories, 27th in the swim with a time of 2:38.07, and finished 29th in the combined run/shoot with a time of 16:41.10.
Competition continues on Friday with the men's qualification round. Competing for the U.S. are John Gibbons (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Hans Lauzen (Aurora, Ill.) and Lucas Schrimsher (Roswell, N.M.).
