The TEAMs (Travel, Events And Management in Sports) Conference was held in New Orleans, LA from October 13-17, 2009. TEAMs is hosted by Schneider Publishing (Sports Travel Magazine).

USA Pentathlon (sponsored by Schneider Publishing) had over 40 individual appointments with sports commissions and convention and visitor bureaus looking to host events. USAP was looking for locations to host a US Nationals and potential World Cup. A few of the meetings were with organizations such as Disney, 776 Marketing, Arizona Sports Alliance, Team Kentucky, Team Texas, Florida Sports Foundation and Gainsville Sports Commission, Greater Portland CVB,the NCAA, National Travel Systems, Sports North Carolina, and others.
A detailed RFP (request for proposal) will be sent to each agency with the specifications for hosting USAP events. The RFP starts the process of identifying availability, sponsors and logistics for the events. Usually an organization bids for an event at least one year out.
