USA Pentathlon Junior National Team Departs for Junior World Championships

          The USA Pentathlon Junior National team departs today (July 3) for Kaoshiung City, Taiwan (R.O.C.) to compete in the Junior World Championships.  The opening ceremony takes place on July 5 and will feature teams from at least twenty-five nations.  The competition at the Nanzi Modern Pentathlon & Biathlon Training Centre will wrap up on July 12 with the closing ceremony.

          The US will be represented by US National Junior gold medalist John Gibbons and US National Junior bronze medalist Andrew Jayne on the men's side.  Gibbons participated in the 2008 Junior World Championships in Cairo Egypt while Jayne participated in the 2008 Youth A World Championships in Albena, Bulgaria.

          Margaux Isaksen returns to the Asian continent for the first time since participating in the Beijing Olympic Games in August 2008.  Isaksen was the 2008 Youth A World Champion in Albena and is fresh off the US National Championships where she swept the gold medals in the Youth A, Junior, and Senior divisions.
