For Immediate Release May 10, 2008 Taormina Finishes 20th, Isaksen 21st and Kelly 26th in Today's Final of World Cup #5 in Kladno, Czech Republic COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-Today's women's final of modern pentathlon World Cup #5 proved to be a rough one for the USA Pentathletes as Sheila Taormina (Livonia, Mich.) finished in 20th place followed by Margaux Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark./Colorado Springs, Colo.) in 21st and Michelle "Mickey"Kelly (Chatham, N.Y./Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) in 26th place. With no one making a significant move today, the women's race for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team for Modern Pentathlon will continue to the 2008 World Modern Pentathlon Championships, May 29-June 1 in Budapest, Hungary. Emily Shertzer (Hershey, Pa./Colorado Springs, Colo.) competed in semifinal action on Thursday, May 8, but failed to advance to today's final. Sam Sacksen (Somerset, Pa./Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Niul Manske (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) both advanced to the final round with their performances in yesterday's semifinal. Dennis Bowsher's (Dallas, Texas/Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) chances of qualifying for the 2008 Olympic Games took a serious blow yesterday when he failed to qualify for the finals. Will Brady (Colorado Springs, Colo.) also missed advancing through the semifinal round.
