Dartanyon Crockett's (Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, CO) Bronze Medal highlighted the day for Team USA at the Grand Prix Infraero of Judo in Santo Andre, Brazil.

Competing in the 90kg division, Crockett went 3 - 1 for the day with three ippon victories. The Grand Prix brought together more than 150 Judo players with visual impairment from a dozen counties. Many of the top Paralympic players in the world were present.

After winning his first two matches by full point in under a minute, Dartanyon faced off with 2012 Paralympic Games Silver Medalist, Sam Ingram from Great Britain. This was a rematch of a quarterfinal at the 2012 Paralympic Games won by Ingram. Their match today was competitive throughout and went the distance. Although Ingram was eventually victorious, Dartanyon controlled the action at various points of the match. " I would have loved to win that match, but I know what I need to do next time we fight. I felt good out there and will use this experience moving forward. All in all it was a successful day for my first tournament since last July," explained Crockett. Dartanyon shook off any disappointment from his loss to Ingram and took home a Bronze Medal, with an Ippon victory over Alexander Radoman of Canada.
