US Athletes Take To Mats At Pan American Champs in Costa Rica

April 19, 2013 - Competition commenced today at the Pan American Championships in Costa Rica with a lead brigade of U.S. athletes stepping onto the mats.

This is a pinnacle competition for the Americas, drawing the best qualifying athletes from Canada through Argentina. The tournament promises big international ranking points to winners, 400 for a gold medal, 240 for silver and 160 for bronze, more than a Grand Prix tournament and just below a Grand Slam.
