United States to Compete Against Brazil and Argentina in Team Event on Sunday

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) - Six U.S. men will compete in a team tournament against national teams from Argentina and Brazil on Sunday in Maringa, Brazil. 

The event will be televised in Brazil and features World and Pan American medalists.  This tournament is part of a two-event series in which the athletes from the United States and Argentina will compete on Saturday before participating in a training camp and a second team event on Oct. 18. 

"What a wonderful opportunity our friends from the Brazilian Judo Confederation are offering our USA Judo athletes to compete in a nationally televised three-way competition.  Brazil is definitely the place to be for judo and the Olympic moment in time," said USA Judo CEO Jose H. Rodriguez (Colorado Springs, Colo.)  "USA Judo thanks Brazil Judo's President Paulo Wanderley for his support of the development of judo in the Americas."
