Jul 07 USA Takes on Brazil in Team Competition on July 16

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) - Ten U.S. athletes will compete in an exhibition team competition against players from Brazil at 6:30 p.m. (EDT) on July 16 in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

The competition will be Webcast live on www.usjudo.org with a special guest commentator and televised in Brazil.  The time of the Webcast will be announced soon.  

This event will be the first of a series of team tournaments for U.S. athletes against all-star teams from other nations with the next being held in Miami later this year.  

"USA Judo continues to look for opportunities for our athletes to compete with some of the best athletes in the world," said USA Judo CEO Jose H. Rodriguez (Colorado Springs, Colo.)  "We are honored to have had the leadership of Brazilian judo consider Team USA as a worthy opponent for a nationally televised event. We will continue to seek dual match competitions for our athletes as it is always a great opportunity to compete for the flag and the honor of our nation."
