2009 Senior Nationals Draws Posted

The draws the USA Judo Senior National Championships have now been posted here.  .

Check out the draws to see who your favorite players have in their lineups and check back often for updates throughout the day on Friday or Saturday.

Highlights of the draws include: 

  • Olympians Ryan Reser (Colorado Springs, Colo. / USA Judo National Training Site at the Olympic Training Center) and Travis Stevens (Wakefield, Mass. / NYAC / USA Judo National Team FORCE) could fight in the second round of the 81kg division.  Former 60kg Olympian Taraje Williams-Murray (Wakefield, Mass. / NYAC / Spartak Sports Club) is on the opposite side of the draw.
  • Former World Team member Aaron Cohen (Buffalo Grove, Ill. / NYAC / Cohen's Judo) moved up from 81kg to 90kg and will be on the same side of the draw as top seed Jacob Larsen (Colorado Springs, Colo. / Team FORCE / USA Judo National Training Site at the Olympic Training Center) and the opposite side from two-time Pan Am medalist Garry St. Leger (Brooklyn, N.Y. / NYAC / Legrosports Starrett)
  • Former 48kg Pan American Games bronze medalist Jeanette Rodriguez (Davie, Fla. / USA Judo National Training Site at North Miami) will compete in her first Senior Nationals in the 52kg division.
  • Juniors Katelyn Bouyssou (Hope, R.I. / Mayo Quanchi) and Angela Creutzberger (Ballston Lakes, N.Y. / USA Judo National Training Site at the Jason Morris Judo Center) could continue their rivalry in the 48kg division.
  • Sisters Mindy and Chrissy Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii / Hawaii Tenri), both Senior Nationals medalists at 52kg in 2008, split divisions with Mindy taking 57kg and Chrissy taking 52kg.
  • Fifty-one-year-old Mickey Matsumoto (Torrance, Calif. / Gardena Judo) will try to earn his fourth Senior National title in the 55kg division.
  • Former Senior National Champion Shintaro Higashi (Scarsdale, N.Y. / NYAC) and 2004 U.S. Olympic Team alternate Mark Fletcher (Atlanta, Ga. / Georgia Judo) will fight in the first round of the 100kg division.
