Statement of Remembrance from USA Judo President Dr. Ron Tripp

Sept. 11, 2008, 5:13 p.m. (ET)

At ground zero in New York City, the names of our neighbors lost in the 9-11 terrorist attacks were read and honored this morning - innocent victims of a senseless attack upon our great nation.

In this moment of great sadness  USA Judo will remember our three heroes of this tragic event.  Christian Reggenhard, Paul Pansini, and Jeremy Glick made the ultimate sacrifice in efforts to save the lives of others in the rubble of New York and on United Flight 93.

We are very proud that the USA Judo Medal of Honor, established in honor of them and awarded to these three men in 2001, serves to remind us of their personal courage and the character that our great sport instills in each of us.
