Oct. 25, 2008, 8:11 p.m. (ET)

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) - Competition at the Junior World Championships will conclude on Sunday in Bangkok, Thailand with Aaron Kunihiro (Wakefield, Mass. / NYAC / USA Judo National Team FORCE) and Jeremy Liggett (West Glenville, N.Y. / NYAC / USA Judo National Training Site at the Jason Morris Judo Center) fighting in the 60kg and 66kg divisions, respectively.

After a first-round bye, two-time Senior Nationals medalist Kunihiro will fight the winner of the match between 2008 European Junior Champion Pierre Duprat (FRA) and Olie Sundstroem (SWE).

Asian Junior Champion Hirofumi Yamamoto (JPN) is in the top half of the draw while African Junior Champion Attia Hamada (EGY) is a player to watch on Kunihiro's side of the draw.

Competing in his second Junior World Championships, Liggett's first match will be against Kantimur Bopoev (KGZ) with the winner facing Hussein Al-Jarrah (YEM) in the second round.  In order to remain in medal contention, Liggett would need to win a third match against Georgios Giankanidis (GRE), Joel Benoit (CAN) or Walid Chellah (ALG)

In a division with no returning medalists from the 2006 Junior World Championships, any number of players could advance to the finals, but among those to watch on the opposite side of the bracket is Ugo Legrand, the French teenager who won the Senior Belgium Open earlier this year and is a three-time European Junior medalist.
