For Immediate Release February 22, 2008 Contact: Nicole Jomantas, 719.866.4732 Nicole.Jomantas@usajudo.us (Colorado Springs, Colo.)-Anna Palmer (Colorado Springs, Colo. / USA Judo National Training Site at the Olympic Training Center) was the only U.S. competitor on the first day of the Hamburg Super World Cup where she competed in the 52kg division in Germany. Palmer had a first-round bye and a second round match against five-time World Cup medalist Antonia Cuomo (ITA). Palmer was given a stalling penalty three minutes into the match. Cuomo led in her next match against Romy Tarangul (GER) by a waza-ari (half-point) when she let her guard down with seven seconds on the clock and was thrown for ippon with an uchimata (inner thigh throw), eliminating Palmer from the tournament.
