U.S. Olympic Team for Judo Holds Open Practice on Tuesday at 11 a.m.

(Beijing, China) - The U.S. Olympic Team for Judo will be holding an open practice on August 5 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Beijing Normal University.

The practice will be attended by all 10 members of the Team as well as all seven training partners and two coaches.

Team USA members include:

Valerie Gotay (Harlingen, Texas / San Diego, Calif. / 57kg), two-time Olympian and three-time Pan American Champion
Sayaka Matsumoto (El Cerrito, Calif. / Richmond, Calif. / 48kg), seven-time National Champion
Daniel McCormick (Wakefield, Mass. / Arlington, Texas / +100kg), 2008 Pan Am bronze medalist
Brian Olson (Boulder, Colo. / Tallahassee, Fla. / 90kg), four-time Olympian and 1997 World bronze medalist
Ryan Reser (Colorado Springs, Colo. / Dallas Texas / 73kg), three-time World Cup medalist
Ronda Rousey (Wakefield, Mass. / Santa Monica, Calif. / 70kg), 2007 World silver medalist
Travis Stevens (Glenville, N.Y. / Tacoma, Wash. / 81kg), 2007 Pan Am Games Champion
Taylor Takata (Colorado Springs, Colo. / Wahiawa, Hawaii / 66kg), two-time Pan American Champion

Kayla Harrison (Wakefield, Mass. / Middletown, Ohio), National Champion at 70kg in 2006 and 78kg in 2008.
Ann Shiraishi (San Francisco, Calif. / Sacramento, Calif.), 2008 Senior National Champion in the 52kg division and 2008 Olympic Team alternate at 48kg
Jeremy Liggett (Glenville, N.Y.), 2008 Olympic Team alternate at 66kg and 2006 Pan Am silver medalist at 60kg
Michael Eldred (Fruitland, Idaho), five-time international medalist in 2007 at 73kg
Garry St. Leger (Brooklyn, N.Y.), two-time National Champion at 90kg

Olympic Team Coaches include 1992 Olympic silver medalist Jason Morris (Glenville, N.Y.) and two-time Olympic bronze medalist Israel Hernandez (Harlingen, Texas), one of Cuba's former top competitors.

Media interested in attending the training session, must register for access to Beijing Normal University at www.usocpressbox.org by noon local time on August 4.
