The 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony is just a day away and many from all over the world will be watching their favorite athlete or sport hoping for their country to bring home the gold. LPGA.com caught up with several players to get their take on this year's Summer Olympics. Today Vicky Hurst takes time to answers a few question from her favorite event to watch, if she prefers Summer or Winter Olympics and a lot more.
LPGA: Do you have a favorite Summer Olympics moment?
HURST: Watching Michael Phelps make history is one of the best moments I have ever seen.
LPGA: Who is your favorite Summer Olympics athlete?
HURST: I am very excited to watch Lolo Jones return to the hurdles. The entire women's national soccer team. Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte.
LPGA: What is your favorite sport to watch in the Summer Olympics?
HURST: Gymnastics is very exciting. Beach Volleyball looks like a ton of fun and of course the Track and Field events.
LPGA: Which country do you think will win the most medals?
LPGA: Do you think Michael Phelps will win gold in all the events he swims?
HURST: It's going to be very close but I hope so!!
LPGA: Will you be rooting for Ryan Lochte or Michael Phelps?
HURST: I'd love to see Ryan and Michael battle it out for Gold.
LPGA: Which Summer Olympic sport would you like to play?
HURST: Individual: Gymnastics! But I would be too scared to do any of those jumps and flips. Team: Beach Volleyball. They have the best bodies!!
LPGA: Do you prefer the Summer or Winter Olympics?
LPGA: Which Summer Olympics sport would you never want to try?
HURST: I would say weight lifting, I'll save my back for another event.
LPGA: Which sport did you have no idea was in the Olympics?
HURST: I had no clue trampoline was in the Olympics!! But I am extra excited to see that event.
LPGA: If you were on the gymnastics team which event would you want to participate in?
HURST: I would try the Floor Execise. It seems the least dangerous.
LPGA: If you were on a synchronized swimming team, what LPGA players would you want on your team?
HURST: Allison Walshe and I would be a pretty good match. We do make an awesome egg toss team.
LPGA: How do you feel about golf being added to the Olympics in 2016?
HURST: I am very excited!! I can't believe I have an opportunity to become an Olympic Athlete. It doesn't matter which sport you play but to be able to say your an Olympic athlete is quite the accomplishment, and maybe even bring home gold!
LPGA: Is making the 2016 Olympics a goal of yours?
LPGA: What sport did Margaret Abbott play to become the first U.S. woman to win Olympic gold, in 1900?
HURST: Golf of course!!
