Morgan Pressel Talks About The Olympics
The 2012 Summer Olympics are in full swing and all over the world people are watching as their favorite athlete competes for gold. LPGA.com caught up with several players to get their take on this year's Summer Olympics. In the latest edition of the Olympic Q&A, Morgan Pressel takes time to answers a few questions from what sport she'd like to try, her favorite Summer Olympics moment and a lot more.
LPGA: Do you have a favorite Summer Olympics moment?
PRESSEL: No...I love it all!
LPGA: Who is your favorite Summer Olympics athlete?
PRESSEL: I love Shawn Johnson.
LPGA: What is your favorite sport to watch in the Summer Olympics?
PRESSEL: Gymnastics and swimming.
LPGA: Which country do you think will win the most medals?
PRESSEL: USA all the way!
LPGA: Do you think Michael Phelps will win gold in all the events he swims?
PRESSEL: I hope so!
LPGA: Will you be rooting for Ryan Lochte or Michael Phelps?
PRESSEL: Both of course - they are both great Americans!
LPGA: Which Summer Olympic sport would you like to play?
PRESSEL: For the individual sport I would either select gymnastics or diving, and for the team sport it would have to be either beach volleyball or soccer.
LPGA: Do you prefer the Summer or Winter Olympics?
PRESSEL: Both for different reasons! I love hockey and figure skating in the winter!
LPGA: Which Summer Olympics sport would you never want to try?
PRESSEL: Anything like wrestling or boxing.
LPGA: Which sport did you have no idea was in the Olympics?
LPGA: If you were on the gymnastics team which event would you want to participate in?
PRESSEL: Floor exercise.
LPGA: If you were on a synchronized swimming team, what LPGA players would you want on your team?
PRESSEL: Ones that were great swimmers!
LPGA: How do you feel about golf being added to the Olympics in 2016?
PRESSEL: I am very excited to think that golfers will have the opportunity to become Olympians, a very elite class in sport. Who didn't dream of walking in with their country's team during the opening ceremonies as a kid??
LPGA: Is making the 2016 Olympics a goal of yours?
PRESSEL: Absolutely! I think it will be an amazing experience and a tremendous honor to represent your country!
LPGA: What sport did Margaret Abbott play to become the first U.S. woman to win Olympic gold, in 1900?
PRESSEL: Golf! (thanks google ;))
LPGA: What would it mean to you to carry the Olympic Torch for your country?
PRESSEL: It is an honor, an amazing tradition, and part of what makes the games so special!
