The Women’s National Championships, held annually in late May or early June, serves as the only selection opportunity to the U.S. Women's National Team and features past and present collegiate all-stars and members of the current National Squad, Junior National Squad and Development Squad competing for the opportunity to wear the red, white and blue on the international stage. In 2013, the annual event will be held at Old Dominion University, May 23-29. Head coach Craig Parnham will identify the 2013-14 U.S. Women’s National Team and the core group of players going forward at the conclusion of the selection tournament. The U.S. Women's National Team represents the top athletes in the United States who represent the U.S. at all major international competitions during non-Olympic years.
Selection to the U.S. Men's National Squad is based on performance at the annual California Cup Tournament, held over Memorial Day weekend in Moorpark, Cali. Outside of this event, at the discretion of U.S. head coach Chris Clements, a player may be added to the "training squad" based on known ability and performance. The final verdict for selection to the Team will be based upon performance while participating on the "training squad." The duration of time for a trial period will be at the discretion of the Men's National Team Coach.
