COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – June 10, 2013 – Using a GroPro camera, Rye Field Hockey submitted a two-minute video clip to USA Field Hockey on how their club is growing the post-collegiate game in New York City. After a week of online voting, USA Field Hockey is pleased to announce Rye Field Hockey as the winner of the Grow the Game contest and $1K of field hockey gear and equipment at a USA Field Hockey Grow the Game sponsor.

"Rye Field Hockey Club is excited to win USA Field Hockey’s Grow the Game Contest,” said Alex Anich, Vice-Captain and Club Secretary for Rye. “We would like to thank all our supporters and sponsors, but most especially, our competitors. It was great to see how everyone is putting that extra hard work in so many different ways and all around the country. Rye plans to use the money to support the development of our first junior indoor field hockey program for boys. We hope the money will help us develop and expand field hockey for all young players in New York City in the future."

USA Field Hockey would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of those who took the time to submit videos for the Grow the Game contest. This year’s tremendous participation shows how the efforts of individuals can effect a community, a school district and the youth.
