Every two years since 2007, the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) has recognized the top players in the region by selecting a men’s and a women’s Pan American Elite Team. For 2013, hockey specialists gathered in Brampton, Canada for the Men’s Pan American Cup and Mendoza, Argentina for the Women’s Pan American Cup to select the teams.

In total, players from seven different countries earned slots on the team for both the men and the women. Women’s Pan American Cup Champion, Argentina, garnered four players on the team. Seven times FIH Player of the Year, Luciana Aymar, and Trinidad and Tobago’s Kwandwane Browne were both nominated for their fourth consecutive occasion.

For the US men, Moorpark, Cali. native Pat Harris received his third nomination to the Pan American Elite Team. Harris has been a crucial member of the Men’s squad since 2000. Teammate Christian Linney (San Diego, Cali.) was named to the Elite squad for the first time.

On the women’s side, Team USA standout Rachel Dawson (Berlin, NJ) received her third consecutive selection to the Elite squad. The former dynamic Princeton duo of Katie Reinprecht (Perkasie, Pa.) and Kathleen Sharkey (Moosic, Pa.) were also named to the Pan American Elite Team, earning their first nominations.
