USA Field Hockey Weekly Report - December 10, 2012
Futures is USA Field Hockey’s Olympic Development program and the beginning of an athlete’s journey to the U.S. National and Olympic Squad. This Friday is the last day to register for the 2013 Futures Program.
The Futures program invites the top 5,000 athletes in the country to participate in specialized training sessions. Athletes that participate in the Futures program are recruited to play at some of the best collegiate field hockey programs in the country. Some will represent the U.S. on the Junior National and National Squad and a few will have the opportunity to represent the U.S. at the 2016 or 2020 Olympic Games.
Over 82% of NCAA Division I U.S. athletes participated in the Futures program and the 2012 U.S. Women’s Olympic Field Hockey Team started their journey in Futures. Your journey starts here too!
To register for the Futures program follow the instructions on your email invitation. If you are having issues registering or have questions about the program, please email Caitie Tornes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lighting the Way to London and BEYOND It’s hard to believe another year has already come and gone. In honor of the 2012 Olympic Games, we launched our annual campaign, Lighting the Way to London and BEYOND and challenged our audience to recruit 2,012 gifts by the end of the year, December 31, 2012. It’s been an exciting year and in order to continue to build on this momentum as we head into 2013, we need the support of our loyal fans. During this holiday season, we ask you to think of the great field hockey memories from this year and make a gift to USA Field Hockey. A gift of ANY size makes a huge difference on our programming and creates opportunities to continue to grow our sport. As of today, we have secured 1,356 gifts and each day we get closer and closer to reaching our goals together. Help us celebrate 2,012 by making your gift today!
