COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Field Hockey is excited to announce the first ever, National Field Hockey Day. National Field Hockey Day, presented by Harrow Sports, will take place Saturday, September 15 and has been established by USA Field Hockey to increase awareness for the sport and inspire participation across the country.
USA Field Hockey is inviting all of you to join in on the fun. Here’s how to get involved:
Spread the word. Let people know about National Field Hockey Day. That means teammates, family members, teachers, coaches, and even your neighbors.
Bring a friend. If you’re going to a field hockey game that weekend… bring a friend. Invite a colleague, sibling, parent, or neighbor to watch and cheer with you. The most spirited fans and teams will receive prizes from Harrow Sports.
Pick up a stick. But the best way to celebrate National Field Hockey Day is to pick up a stick and share the game with someone new.
No matter how you celebrate National Field Hockey Day, take a picture or video and submit it to FUNFH@usafieldhockey. USA Field Hockey will share their favorites on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
Have an old picture of you, your parents, or grandparents playing field hockey way back when? Tag @USAFieldHockey on Twitter or Instagram on Thursday, September 13th for our Throwback Thursday competition. The best photo will win a gift card to Harrow Sports. You can also submit photos or videos of your favorite tricks and participate in trivia all weekend long.
USA Field Hockey will list all Division I, II, and III games happening September 14-16, so you can check out a match. Admission is usually free. As an added bonus, the NCAA field hockey team with the highest attendance over the weekend (Friday – Sunday), will also receive a prize from Harrow Sports. If your team, club, or Fundamental Field Hockey program is doing something special to celebrate (like hosting a free clinic), let us know! USA Field Hockey will post all participating events on our website. Please email email@example.com to submit any events or for additional information.
