LONDON - Coming off of a disappointing 1-0 loss to Australia on Thursday, the U.S. is in need of a win over No. 6 world ranked New Zealand in order to keep their hopes alive for a possible spot in the semi-finals. The U.S. has dropped to 5th place and 1-2-0 in Pool B with two games remaining. The top two teams from each pool advance to the semi-finals.

"We have to keep our heads up and keep doing our best and putting our best out on the field," says U.S. goalkeeper Amy Swensen. "That is really what the Olympics are all about. We plan to finish out the tournament as high as we can."

New Zealand is currently tied with three other teams in Pool B. Argentina, Australia and Germany all have six points, two wins and one loss. Argentina rebounded from their loss against the U.S. on Tuesday, by defeating New Zealand 2-1.

Day four of competition at Riverbank Arena in London's Olympic Park will determine which teams have a shot at a podium finish in London. The U.S. vs New Zealand match will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network at 2:00 p.m. ET.
