The USA were hoping to be in a higher classification match, to finish better than their previous participation at an Indoor World Cup (11th in 2003 in Leipzig, Germany). Going up against Namibia today for the 11th/12th place finish, USA took control early with Robert Schilling (Long Beach, CA) scoring in the first five minutes. Patrick Harris (Moorpark, CA) put a second goal in for USA with less than a minuteremaining, giving USA a 2-0 advantage at the half.
Schilling scored again early in the second half. Namibia could not seem to hold their ground against USA. Five more goals were scored before the conclusion of the match. USA took home their first victory at the Indoor World Cup, 8-0 and finish the tournament in 11th place.
