Selenski and Taylor continue scoring streak

Paige Selenski (Shavertown, PA) continued her scoring streak in USA's second match against Belgium this afternoon, however, two goals were not enough for the dominant team to come away with a victory. Belgium was successful at converting their only two penalty corners into goals, ending the match in a draw, 2-2.

"We paid the price today for not taking advantage of the opportunities we created in the first half and Belgium penalized us by scoring two goals off of their only two penalty corners," said Lee Bodimeade, Women's National Team Head Coach. "It's been a physical tour for us to this point, but we'll be looking to finish strong in our final two matches against Belgium on Saturday and Sunday."

Selenski scored her fifth goal on tour only three minutes into play after collecting a pass from Michelle Cesan (New Vernon, NJ). Shannon Taylor (Midlothian, VA) fired a direct shot to the left corner of the cage, tallying her fourth goal in five matches.

"We have lessons to learn in how to put together back to back games that result in a victory," said Lauren Crandall. "We definitely have some work to do in penalty corner execution. It's a positive we are drawing the corners but it's our job to convert them."

USA will play Belgium over the weekend, in the final two matches of the series.
