COLORADO SPRINGS, C.O.- Pam Stuper (Hamden, Conn.) was elected on to the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Executive Board on Saturday, November 13 at the FIH 42nd Congress in Montreux, Switzerland. Stuper won handily, receiving 53 out of 65 nation votes in her favor. She was one of three new members elected, including Qasim Zia (PAK) and Marc Coudron (BEL) who will serve a four year term on the board.

“It is a great honor, first to have been nominated by USA Field Hockey and then to be voted on to the Board. I am excited to have the opportunity to represent hockey around the world,” said Stuper.

Stuper has been involved with the development of the sport as a player, coach and administrator. She has been the field hockey coach at Yale University for fourteen years. Under Stuper’s leadership, Yale has seen success both on and off the field, including setting a school record for Ivy league wins and three ECAC Championship titles.

Stuper is actively involved in coaching and committed to the sports governance through her role with the USA Field Hockey Board of Directors, as the Director of Curriculum and Development with the National Field Hockey Coaches Association and as a member of the NCAA Division I Field Hockey committee. In addition, Stuper often serves as a team manager for the USA National Team.

“Pam operates without ego or agenda, and is firmly in place to advance hockey throughout the world. As a former elite level player, she has an affinity for athletes and subscribes to fair and ethical coaching and fair and ethical competition. I am thrilled that Pam will be representing USA Field Hockey on the international level,” said Steve Locke, Executive Director of USA Field Hockey.
