In April 1987 a new chapter in the history of women's hockey was opened as the International Hockey Federation (FIH) decided to recognize the women's hockey tournament being organised in Amstelveen for that summer as the inaugural Women's Champions Trophy. Over the years the Women's Champions Trophy has been held in Argentina, Australia, Germany, Macau and the Netherlands, with 2010 being the first time the tournament will have been hosted by England. The USA is not competing in the 2010 Women's Champions Trophy tournament but, Amy Hassick is there representing the the USA as a member of the umpiring contingent. Watch her game -- and see some great hockey too!
