The USA Field Hockey Women's National Team defeated Chile, 2-0, today as they continue their six-game test series in Argentina. Katie O'Donnell and Katie Evans scored for the USA.

The USA Women's Team is in preparations for the 2010 AtaHolding Women's World Cup Qualifier in San Diego, CA, scheduled for March 26 to April 3, 2010 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center at Chula Vista.

"We didn't handle the ball as well as we did against Belgium on Friday," said Head Coach Lee Bodimeade, "but it's pleasing to win another game after what has been a very tough three week period. Chile is working hard at improving and will be a serious threat in coming years."

Katie O'Donnell continued her hot scoring streak, scoring three minutes into today's contest on the heels of her hat-trick against Belgium.

Katie Evans added a second goal in the 25th minute, a reverse stick blast to the far post from the top of the scoring circle.

Goalkeeper Barb Weinberg made several great one-on-one saves to keep the Americans in control of the match.

"For this game I felt like I stayed composed but had the right level of intensity to stay in the game," said Weinberg. "With our defenders coming back into the play, I knew I could come out and go for the one-on-one saves."

The USA out their six-game test series against Argentina's Las Leonas on Sunday, February 21.

"Looking to tomorrow's game against Argentina," said Bodimeade, "we look forward to playing the number two-ranked team in the world, and continue our progression through this preparation phase."
