Welcome Futures 2013 Athletes

Congratulations on your selection to the Futures 2013 program! We are very excited that you will be participating in the 2013 program. This webpage will list the very important information that you will need to know for the upcoming sessions so make sure to refer back to it often! 

Accessing your Site Schedule 

Your site schedule should be available no later than December 31, 2012 for the 2013 Futures program. Please follow these instructions on how to access your Futures Schedule:

  • Go to: www.usafieldhockey.com.
  • Click on “Futures”
  • Click on “Regions”
  • Select the Region that you have been assigned to
  • Once you have reached your specific region page please click on the site that you have been assigned to
  • Once you have clicked on your site you should see the location that your sessions will take place at, the head coach at the site, and the dates and times that you will be meeting.
  • Access this page often for site specific information and any changes to the schedule due to weather related cancellations. 

Cancellations

Your Regional Director will be sending you an email about how cancellations will be handled at your specific site. We try to communicate cancellations as early as possible but sometimes weather related cancellations are not known until a few hours prior to the session. Please make sure to check your predetermined location for cancellation information.


What to Bring to Each Session

  • 2 Copies of your Futures Medical Form (1 copy to turn in for the first session, 1 copy to keep in Field Hockey Bag)
  • Equipment
    • Field Player Equipment
      • Stick
      • Appropriate Footwear
      • Mouth guard
      • Shin Guards
      • Whistle
    • OR Goalkeeper Equipment
  • Apparel
    • Field Players (Dress for the facility/weather)
      • Shorts/Pants (Depending on indoor/outdoor facility)
      • Futures Scrimmage Vest (Or Navy Blue T-shirt and White T-shirt)
      • Appropriate Footwear
    • Goalkeepers (Dress for the facility/weather)
  • Water Bottle
  • Lunch or Snacks
  • Sunscreen (For outdoor sessions)
  • Player Assessment Sheet and a pen or pencil

Medical Forms

At the beginning of the first session you will be required to turn in the medical form that you filled out during your Futures Registration. Here are the instructions to help you access/print your medical form:

  • Go to: https://webpoint.usfieldhockey.com/wp15/intralock/login.asp
  • Enter your Username and password and click “Log In”
  • On the left hand side of the page you will see “Print Medical Information”
  • Your Medical Information will open in a new tab
  • Click on “Click Here” to print in the right had corner of the page
  • The Print information will pop up, select the printer that you want to print to and click “Print”
  • Staple your medical forms in order
  • Hand in your medical forms to the Head Coach or Athletic Trainer at the First Session

 

If you have any special medical situations you must let your head coach or athletic trainer know.


Accessing the Futures Curriculum

Futures Athletes have access to the 2013 curriculum online. It is very important that athletes review the curriculum prior to each session to familiarize themselves with the training that they will be taking part in. To access the Futures Curriculum please follow these instructions:

  • Go to: https://webpoint.usfieldhockey.com/wp15/intralock/login.asp
  • Enter your Username and password and click “Log In”
  • Under the Futures Athlete Information click “Click Here to review the Futures curriculum”
  • A new page will pop up and towards the top of the page click on “Home Page”
  • Click on the session number that you will be attending.
  • Review the Drills that you will be taking part in during your session

 

Printing the Player Assessment Sheet

  • From the Session page in the top left hand corner click on Futures Session (#).pdf
  • Click on the printer button at the bottom of the page
  • The Print information will pop up, select the printer that you want to print to and click “Print”
  • Bring your Player Assessment Sheet and a pen to your sessions so that you can get feedback from your coach
