David Dinsmore (New Albany, Ohio/Coral Gables, Fla.) and Krysta Palmer (Reno, Nev./Carson City, Nev.) have been selected to compete in the mixed team event, and Maria Coburn (Round Rock, Texas) and Alison Gibson (Austin, Texas) are expected to pair up in the women’s synchronized 3-meter event at the FINA World Championships, which begin Friday in Budapest, Hungary.

Coburn was to have competed with Kassidy Cook (The Woodlands, Texas/Stanford, Calif.) in the synchronized 3-meter event, but Cook withdrew from the team due to injury. USA Diving’s coaching staff and high performance director evaluated the other women’s springboard divers on the team and determined Coburn and Gibson offered the best potential pairing in the Cook’s absence. Prior to the women’s synchronized 3-meter contest on July 17, both Coburn and Gibson are slated to compete in the women’s 1-meter event, with preliminaries on July 14 and finals on July 15.

Dinsmore and Palmer will dive in the mixed team event on July 18. The team event consists of one male and one female, with each diver performing three dives. All six groups of dives must be represented, and divers must perform on both the 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform. Following the team event, Palmer is slated to dive in the women’s 3-meter event beginning July 20 and Dinsmore will compete in the men’s 10-meter event, which begins July 21.
