Winter storm cancels Monday morning competition in Philadelphia

Minnesota, Wisconsin rinks still perfect at 2014 USA Curling National Championships sweeps along in Philadelphia

(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) - Ten-time national champion Allison Pottinger kept her team undefeated with a 10-2 win this afternoon over Minnesota-based Amy Lou Anderson rink at the 2014 USA Curling National Championships presented by Labatt. Teams skipped by past U.S. junior champions Alex Carlson (Wayzata, Minn.) and Nina Spatola (McFarland, Wis.) also are perfect at 3-0 in the round robin standings at IceWorks Skating Complex.

Due to Winter Storm Titan, the 8 a.m. draw tomorrow will be cancelled with competition resuming at 12 p.m. ET. The schedule has slight adjustments for Monday and Tuesday. To view the complete schedule, go to 

Spatola and teammates Becca Hamilton (McFarland, Wis.), Tara Peterson (Eagan, Minn.), and Sophie Brorson (Minneapolis, Minn.) got past Caitlin Maroldo, 9-2, while Carlson made a game-saving shot to remain perfect as her team defeated North Dakota's Abigayle Lindgren, 7-6.

Sarah Anderson (Broomall, Pa.) earned her second straight victory with a 6-5 win over Courtney George. Gabrielle Coleman had to sit out due to the flu and her team was left to play with just three players. Maureen Stolt (Plymouth, Minn.) moved up to skip with Seattle's Elle LeBeau and Cyndy Eng-Dinsel as they defeated Cassie Potter's rink, 6-5.
